July 6 & 7 – CNNSP hosted the Great Plains
Super Launch in Grand Island, NE this year.
GPSL 2007 was a success. Ten high altitude balloon groups
from across the country launched 11 balloons, (one got away without its cargo),
and all but one group recovered their equipment that day. We’re all looking
forward to GPSL 2008, which will be located in Kansas City.
For the latest details check out www.superlaunch.org or the GPSL Yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GPSL

Want to Help? |
If
you’re interested in helping with any part of the flight from launch to
recovery, we welcome your participation. We’re always in need of an extra pair
of hands to help with filling the balloon. The chase and recovery can be
exciting, as well. Who knows, maybe you’ll consider becoming an amateur radio
operator (or ham) like the rest of us.
CNNSP
is a non-profit group of amateur radio operators and friends. The entire
program has been funded completely out of our own pockets for the enjoyment and
education of sending several pounds of electronic gear to altitudes rarely
reached by anyone but those involved in the space program. Every flight has its
share of consumables that we must purchase. These include meteorological
balloons, helium, batteries, and miscellaneous items. If you’re interested in
making a contribution to our group, or just joining us for a flight please email me.
